Antonios Giannopoulos

Dr Antonios Giannopoulos is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Engineering, The University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, UK. He has a degree in Geology from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a DPhil in Electronics from the University of York, UK. His cross-discipline background spans the application of geophysical methods to engineering site investigation problems and non-destructive testing of infrastructure elements to computational electromagnetics and development of efficient numerical modelling processes for the finite-difference time-domain method. His main research effort is focused primarily on the development and applications of ground penetrating radar technologies. He is the author of gprMax a full wave electromagnetic simulator for ground penetrating radar.
