David Pugh - Oxford University

I enjoy mathematics, economics, and programming and I get to do all three as a post-doctoral research fellow at the Oxford Mathematical Institute and Institute for New Economics Thinking (INET@Oxford). I spend most of my time thinking about and working on inter-disciplinary research problems using techniques from nonlinear dynamics, machine learning, and network theory, as well as computational modeling and simulation approaches using R, Java, and Python - especially Python. I also enjoy beer, pretzels, hiking, and surfing.

When not occupied with the above, my spare time is spent with my lovely wife and keeping up with my two very busy and super inquisitive wee boys.
