Scientific Research and Publishing with Python

Yves Hilpisch

Abstract

Python has not only evolved to a real competitor for interactive data analytics and even Big Data applications. Its ecosystem nowadays offers lots of useful tools to support typical tasks and processes for scientific research and scientific publishing.

The talks illustrates, on the basis of a specific example, how scientific research results can be efficiently generated and published by using such tools as

  • Sphinx
  • IPython Notebook
  • PythonTEX

The Python ecosystem does not only help to make scientific research more efficient but also facilitates such important aspects as interactivity, research collaboration and reproducibility of numerical/technical research results.
