Almar Klein - Science Applied

Almar Klein studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Twente. In his PhD he developed algorithms to study the motions of stent grafts in abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA), using ECG-gated CT data. During that time, he came in touch with Python as a tool for scientific computing. To be able to visualize the data and algorithm results, he started working on visvis, a scientific visualization toolkit based on Python and OpenGL. Currently, Almar is involved in vispy, a collaborative project to bring a powerful interface to OpenGL that can be used by multiple visualization projects. Further, he is the main author of the Interactive Editor for Python IEP.
